NEW ARTIST - Cornelia O'Donovan
A very warm welcome to the lovely Cornelia O'Donovan who joins Unseen this month.
Cornelia's work is hard to pin down. Her illustrations start in a documentary spirit and then evolve to larger scale more detailed collages and drawings, full of energy and playfulness. These are often then translated into 3-D pieces, whether it be ceramics, product design or surface design for textiles.
Having previously trained in Printed Textile Design at Middlesex University she then went on to receive her Masters degree in Communication in Art and Design at the RCA. This breadth of experience informs Cornelia's art and adds a depth that gives it a truly unique feel.
Her exploring artistry makes a poetic mix from technique and narrative. The expressive subject matter focuses on a love of the handmade, coasting through urban landscapes, superstition, folklore and the day to day. In Cornelia's words, she is 'just having fun', what more could you ask of an artist!

Alice Stevenson - Wigtown Book Festival
Alice Stevenson recently illustrated the cover for this years Wigtown Book Festival Program. The image is inspired by elements of the Galloway countryside- where the festival will be held. She particularly enjoyed depicting a literary lapwing.
